Welcome to Haeru. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Haeru application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by Haeru ("we", "us", or "our").
By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not access the Service.
1. Description of Service
Haeru is an AI-powered life companion application that helps you reflect on your experiences and track your personal growth through conversation. The Service uses artificial intelligence to provide features including chat-based interactions, journaling, AI-powered reflections, insights, goal tracking, and memory organization.
2. Artificial Intelligence Features
The Service uses artificial intelligence ("AI") to power conversations, generate reflections, insights, summaries, and other content based on your messages. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:
- AI limitations: AI-generated responses and content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not fully representative of your experiences. You should review AI-generated content and not rely on it as factual or as a complete record of events.
- Not professional advice: AI-generated responses, reflections, and insights are for personal reflection only and do not constitute professional advice of any kind, including medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.
- Your responsibility: You are responsible for how you interpret and act upon AI-generated content. Haeru is not liable for decisions you make based on AI-generated insights.
- Content ownership: AI-generated content created specifically for you through the Service is provided for your personal use. You may use, save, and share this content as you wish.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.
4. User Accounts
When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your account and password
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
5. User Content
You retain all rights to the content you create through the Service, including chat messages, journal entries, reflections, and other personal data ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you, including processing by AI systems to generate responses, reflections, and insights.
You are solely responsible for your User Content and represent that you have all necessary rights to submit such content. We do not use your User Content to train AI models.

You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe upon the rights of others
- Transmit harmful code, malware, or viruses
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
7. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are owned by Haeru and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Haeru is not a substitute for professional mental health services. If you are experiencing mental health concerns, please seek help from a qualified professional.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Haeru shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
